Where It All Began
Theosis Woodwork started with a simple wish - a wooden cross to hang over the door of my daughter's nursery.
As my wife and I were preparing the room during the final months I started to look for a cross that suited the space. What I found was disappointing: handmade options that were either far out of reach in price and poorly made, or mass-produced pieces with poor proportions and no soul.
So I made one myself.
That first cross, made and designed with the proportions I couldn't find anywhere else, became the foundation of everything that followed. I realized others were likely facing the same search, and I wanted to help.
Since then, my work and skills have grown into many more artistic forms of woodworking. But that original cross remains above her in her bedroom door. Others like it are still available in a selection of beautiful wood options for anyone who wants something handmade - at a price that hopefully doesn't ask you to choose between quality and accessibility.
For those who want something more, I also create inlaid crosses that represent a different level of the craft entirely. The joinery, the material selection, the hours of careful work - these pieces demand more, and I hope the finished work makes that manifest. They are made as objects of prayer, and I hope the natural beauty of creation shines through them.
Every piece that leaves my shop carries the same care I put into that very first one.
